Austin Gridley is a Georgia notary public based in Woodstock. Appointments are in person, and I will travel throughout Georgia to meet you.
I confirm identity from personal knowledge or satisfactory evidence, complete the notarial certificate, and apply the official seal.

effects, or choose the notarial act for you. If you are unsure what your document requires,

These are the powers of a Georgia notary public. The right act depends on the document in front of us.
Oaths and affirmations
Administering oaths and affirmations, including those incidental to commercial and other matters not reserved to a particular officer.
Witnessing signatures
Attesting or witnessing the signature or execution of deeds and other written instruments when that is the act the document calls for.
Affidavits and verifications
Witnessing affidavits upon oath or affirmation and taking verifications upon oath or affirmation.
Certified copies
Certifying a copy of an original that is not a public record available from an official source, when the photocopy is made under my supervision.
What I cannot do
I cannot notarize my own signature, give legal advice, certify birth, marriage, or death records, or notarize for a signer who is not present.

Appointments
How a notarization is scheduled and completed.
- Email me Write to austin@gridley.me with the document type, number of signers, the county or address, and times that work.
- Confirm the meeting I will confirm whether I can take the appointment, where we will meet, and any fee before the notarial act.
- Appear in person with ID Every signer who needs a notarial act must appear. Bring current government-issued photo identification.
- Do not sign early Leave signature lines blank until I ask you to sign. Some acts require the signature to be made in my presence.
- Certificate and seal I complete the notarial certificate, sign as commissioned, and apply the official seal.
- Bring Valid photo ID for each signer, the unsigned document, and any witnesses the document requires.
- Fees Georgia law authorizes $2.00 per notarial act. Travel or administrative fees may apply. I will tell you before the appointment if a fee will be charged and the amount.
- Journals For self-filer real-estate requests, Georgia law requires a journal entry. Other appointments may be recorded as well.
- Declining an act I will not complete a notarial act if identity cannot be confirmed, the signer appears unwilling, or the transaction appears false or unlawful.

I am based in Woodstock, Georgia, and willing to travel. Most appointments are in the north metro — Woodstock, Canton, Holly Springs, Ball Ground, Acworth, Kennesaw, and nearby cities — and I can meet you anywhere in Georgia by arrangement.
This is not remote online notarization. The signer and I must be in the same place, inside Georgia, at the time of the act.
